Benton Brookshire's Donation Supports 2021 Spirit of Christmas Food Drive – BossierNow – Bossier Now

Breaking news for Bossier City and Bossier Parish.
The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office continues its more than 20-year tradition: the Spirit of Christmas food drive.
BPSO’s Capt. Doug Lauter was happy to receive about 40 grocery bags from Brookshire’s grocery store in Benton. Store Director Forrest Richard and Assistant Store Director Dwayne Biley presented the bags made possible by store shoppers who donated $5 to fill the bag or purchased the items themselves.
The bags contain a few items that will go to help the less fortunate of our community.

The Spirit of Christmas basket giveaway began in 1998.
Relying on year-round support from businesses, organizations, and individuals, the program provides food to about 200 families each week throughout the year.
You can donate to Operation Spirit of Christmas by looking for one of the black barrels. You can also drop off canned goods and non-perishable food items at the Viking Drive or Arthur Ray Teague Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office substations, the Criminal Division building on Burt Blvd., the Bossier Parish Courthouse, or at any Bossier Parish School.
Please drop off your donations during regular operating hours. Your support means families can enjoy a hearty meal this Christmas and into 2022.
